Meet the Berzowskis – Spring 2019

Many of you may remember SylvanSport GO Owners, Jim and Robin Berzowski, from their adventures last year, where they camped, biked, hiked and fished their way across North America. And along the way, they stopped off at SylvanSport dealers to share their stories and experiences of living the GO life.

Well, Jim & Robin are back for 2019! They are hitting the road again in search of warmer weather. On this trip, the Berzowskis are heading towards the Keys in their Honda CR-V and towing their GO, which they have dubbed “L.E.O.” (Low Earth Orbiter), making stops at some of our dealers along the way…just to meet you!

So, take a look at their schedule and stop by to hear real stories from real GO owners! Contact us to let us know that you would like to meet them at a specific dealer and we’ll make sure they are ready for you!

  1. Hi Robin & Jim,

I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much I enjoyed meeting you both at the SylvanSport factory last Friday and hearing about your experiences. I wish you continued great adventures, especially on your upcoming Alaska trip. Perhaps my wife Cathy and I will cross paths with you again.

  2. Hi Berzowskis,

I wrote a little while ago regarding your visit to the Ocala Camping World location. Where will you be? There is Gander Outdoors with Camping World in Ocala, and there is the Ocala Camping World with Gander Outdoors in Summerfield, FL known as the Camping World of Ocala.

I called them and they do not know anything about your visit on 3/21/2019. Will you please clarify the time, date and location of your visit?

    Thank you, John Merli

    1. Hi John

The Berzowskis will be Gander Outdoors in Ocala, FL on the morning of March 21, 2019. We’d love to have you stop in for a visit while they are there. Shoot me an email at seyl@sylvansport.com and I can help get that arranged. Thanks!

  3. Sorry. I should have looked at the date again…Ocala on March 21. What time of day will it be, since you’re headed to NC for the next day? How fast do you drive with the camper attached?

  4. Hi. When you get to the Ocala,FL location, which is actually on Rt 441/27 in Summerfield, FL, about 10 minutes North of The Villages, where will you camp? I recently bought a GO and have not yet used it. Since I’m 75 years old and camping alone, do you believe that I will be able to set it up and sometimes take it down after one night in pretty quick time?

    1. Hi John,
We will actually be coming from visiting family right before our Ocala visit, so we will not be camping that night. Last year, when we were in that area, we camped at Alexander Springs in Ocala National Forest and at Spring Lake campground in Withlacoochee State Forest.
I’m 63 and I think I could set up the GO by myself in 20 – 30 minutes; same for breaking it down. The most difficult part for me, if by myself, would be lifting the bed panels, as they are somewhat heavy, but I am able to do it by myself.
I’d recommend practicing at home – that’s what we did!
      Have fun Going!
      Robin

  5. Hi Robin and Jim!
Can’t wait to live vicariously thru you again this year. A couple of questions:
    1) In which campground in Key West will you be “Going”?
    2) Will you be overnighting in North Carolina on your way back north?

Keep up the great travel logue and travel safely!

    1. Hi Michael,
      1) While we would love to camp in one of the fantastic Florida State campgrounds in the keys, we were not quick enough to reserve any before they filled up. We will be camping at the Key Largo Kampground and Marina, right next to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. We should be able to swim, snorkel, kayak, bike, and fish 🙂
Two years ago we camped at the KOA on Sugarloaf Key, just outside of Key West, but it is still being rebuilt after it was destroyed from Hurricane Irma.
      2) We haven’t yet locked down where we’ll be overnighting on our way north, it will be somewhere either in northern SC or southern NC!
Glad you enjoy the trip reports. Will you ge GOing somewhere?
      Robin and Jim

      1. I live in the Raleigh NC area (central) just north of Fayetteville, so hoping to catch up with you as you swing through our great state. This spring, I will be Going on several trips in the NC mountains for fly fishing and hiking. Planning some longer trips in the fall.

I’m curious. In your spring photo above, I see that you are utilizing wood blocks under you stabilizer jacks and wondering when you use them?

        Thanks and safe travels!

        1. Hi Michael,
We use wooden blocks under the stabilizer jacks when we are on an uneven campsite or if the ground is very soft and we don’t want the jacks to sink into the ground.
We’ll be at Gander Outdoors – Fayetteville around 9:30am on Friday morning, March 22nd. Stop by, if you can, we’d love to meet you ?!
          Robin and Jim
