Help Us Help Others
On September 26 & 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene stalled right over our mountains in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and parts of Virginia. The devastation left in its wake to lives, property, and infrastructure is heartbreaking. While parts of our region are starting to clean up and rebuild, other areas are just starting to emerge from the destruction. Through the various stages of recovery, SylvanSport is committed to standing together with our community and supporting relief efforts.
During the aftermath of the storm, SylvanSport’s first concern was the safety and well-being of our employees, as they dealt with their own home and property damage, power/water outages, and isolation as driveways and roads were cleared/repaired. While we were shut down, the best thing we could do is help provide stability during a time of massive instability, so nobody lost a single day of pay.
Many of you have asked how you can help. Below are some of the ways we are asking you to help us, help others. We will get through this…TOGETHER.
At the end of October, we will work with Transylvania Habitat for Humanity and The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina to ensure that all stated donations reach those in need.

As our home in Transylvania County transitions from recovery to rebuilding, Transylvania Habitat for Humanity is the perfect partner for us to help our community with critical home repairs and affordable housing solutions.
The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina
The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina is our partner to distribute product donations. So, if you want to purchase a sleeping bag or GO camper for someone in need, rest assured, they will get it.

Donate a SylvanSport Product
Many of you have asked if you can purchase SylvanSport product and donate it to those impacted by Hurricane Helene. SylvanSport is working directly with The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina to be able to facilitate this request. For example, a Cloud Layer Sleeping Bag to keep people warm as the temperatures begin to drop in our mountains or maybe a GO or GOAT as a temporary shelter for volunteers or a family. While many areas in our region are beginning to reopen, there are still many without shelter, power, water, or other basic necessities. A product donation can go a long way to help make this unfortunate situation, a little more bearable.
